ESC Li'l Howlers Indoor Baseball/softball (ages 3 to 8)

ABOUT

The Erie Sports Center Li'l Howlers Pups and Cubs indoor baseball/softball programs are designed to develop our youngest baseball/softball players in a fun environment. These programs allow young athletes to build fundamental skills and confidence while having fun doing drills that maximize their reps and keep them entertained while learning. It is our goal to help our youngest athletes build their skills during the offseason before they head back to their summer programs. This allows them to enter summer programs prepared and confident which will increase their likelihood of success.

PUPS PROGRAM - AGES 3 to 6 (CO-ED)

Details:

  • 6 weeks with a 45-minute practice once per week. 
  • Ideal for athletes starting out with baseball/softball and parents that want their athletes to learn the fundamental skills of the sport in a positive environment.
  • Designed to teach fundamental baseball and softball skills to young athletes in a fun and safe method. 
  • Focuses on following directions, coordination, concentration, and very beginning baseball instruction. 
  • Practices consist of playing fun drills and activities that teach basic throwing, catching and hitting. 
  • Squishy balls and whiffle balls will be used for athletes that need to develop fielding skills. 
  • Batting will be off a tee and from coach pitch. The earlier athletes can hit in the air the better. 
  • The goal is to build the athletes confidence and skills at this age. 
  • May work up to playing in a 5 on 5 games setting for fun. 
  • For young athletes, parents are encouraged to be on the field helping their kids with drills but all parents must be positive when teaching and respect our coaches. Coaching and teaching out of fear and shame will never be allowed.

  

Price: $120 - includes:

  • Hat and t-shirt
  • (6) 45-minute sessions.


When:

  • Sessions have ended for the winter and will be rescheduled again based on coach availability.
  • Practice day: Tuesdays at 5:00 to 6:00 in the sports dome.


What to bring: 

  • Mitt
  • Bat
  • Helmet
  • Cleats or Sneakers
  • Proper baseball attire
  • Positive attitude

CUBS PROGRAM - AGES 7 to 8 (CO-ED)

Details:

  • 6 weeks with a 60-minute practice once per week. 
  • Ideal for athletes wanting to develop fundamental baseball/softball  skills in a positive environment.
  • Designed to teach fundamental baseball and softball skills to young athletes in a fun and safe method. 
  • Consists of teaching the next level of baseball fun drills and activities that teach basic throwing, catching and hitting. 
  • Practices consist of playing fun drills and activities that teach basic throwing, catching and hitting. 
  • Squishy balls and whiffle balls MAY be used for athletes that need to develop fielding skills. 
  • Batting will be from coach pitch. The earlier athletes can hit in the air the better. 
  • The goal is to maximize reps and minimize standing around time. This helps the young players stay engaged and have fun while they develop skills. 
  • This group will play 5 on 5 games settings for fun.

  

Price: $130 - includes:

  • Hat and t-shirt
  • (6) 60-minute sessions.
