8u LADY SEAWOLVES FASTPITCH SOFTBALL TEAM (GIRLS RULE!)

We focus on a 70% practice to 30% game model. Professional and fun training is critical to young athletes to keep them engage in the sport while they develop the skills necessary to compete in games. Our Lady SeaWolves will train indoors and outdoors throughout the year in the same fashion as our Jr SeaWolves (eww boys!). We will start one training per week with a Strike Zone academy instructor in September to focus on the fundamentals of fielding, hitting, throwing and base running. In the spring we will add a 2nd practice and once weather cooperates teams will head outdoors and train. Instructors that will be working with the team include Brianne Egelston, Jocelyn Terella and Gabi Ramm! 8U in this area is focused on coach pitch and playing tournaments locally.  This allows players to emphasize fielding and hitting at a young age while having fun in a competitive environment. For this age it is important to develop the outfield as much as the infield and also develop hitting. Players are taught how to throw to cut from the outfield and where to be in different defensive situations. 

Includes:

-1 offseason practice per week in the Erie Strike Zone starting in September

-2-3  in season practices per week  (depending on if there is game/tournament) (April to end of July) 

-4 local tournaments (2 hosted with JSW and 2 local)

-Local games and scrimmages

-2 Custom uniform tops, 2 pants, socks, helmet, belt, and bag, 

-Practice jersey and pants.

-2 Team banners. (1) hung at the Erie Strike Zone and (1) to travel with the team

-Local billboard with team banner photo run during June/July time frame

-End of the year team party with Jr SeaWolves (ewww boys!)

-Christmas party with Jr SeaWolves (ewww more boys!)

Registration cost: $50/month (12 months) + 2x mandatory organizational fundraisers ($500 each)

Families will have the opportunity to offset cost through fundraising opportunities and sponsorships. Motivated families will have the opportunity to offset their full cost.

Leadership is important and coaches are mentors to the next generation of leaders in our sports and community. This team will feature a talented staff of Strike Zone Academy instructors as well as positive mindset parent coaches and team managers. The team will be supervised by our Jr SeaWolves leadership to ensure a quality training program is maintained and athletes are improving throughout the year. All coaches are required to have USA softball training and certs. Parent coaches must be present in the Strike Zone Academy training to be a team coach. This is critical because the language and techniques of the game must be consistent to the athletes.

What is the age cutoff? Age cutoff is January 1st. Players must be of age as of December 31, 2025. For example, with 8U , if the player turns 9 before January 1, 2025 then they are not eligible for 8U. They would be 9U.
