Team Lead Coaches are expected to meet our culture of positive coaching , putting the development of the athletes first and helping develop and build enthusiasm for baseball in the Erie Community.  We believe in developing athletes through practice and teaching them life skills through the sport of baseball to build leaders and good people for our community. Great coaches can change a young athletes life and help the athlete and parents put them on a pathway to success in sport and life.

As part of our partnership with the Erie SeaWolves we are ambassadors to the sport of baseball and it is our responsibility to help build the next generation of great baseball players in this area. Our coaches have an important role in developing players year round and working with players and parents from local schools and programs to develop each athlete on a player pathway. This is a critical part of our Erie Sports Center Baseball Academy program. Every level of our baseball program looks to the next level of techniques, knowledge, challenges and experience.  As teams, players and coaches progress through the age levels our program leaders work with coaches to have the facilities, gear, outside instructors and environment to help coaches develop their players and build teams.

Coaches and teams in our organization have exclusive access to the following training facilities and programs. This gives our teams a home facility and allows all of our coaches to work together to build a high quality facility and focus on their teams instead of trying to find practice facilities. It also gives team consistency on the schedule:

• Offseason facilities including indoor training in the ESC Sports Dome and indoor cages from October to May. This is exclusive to our Jr Seawolves teams.
• Offseason training is considered from October to end of March. For each of our teams we include one 2 hour session per week in the ESC Sports Dome and one 2 hour cage session.  For the dome session we divide the dome into sections with 4 of our Jr SeaWolves team for travel baseball only sessions and work to keep them with similar ages to allow scrimmages between age groups or teams. 
• In the last week of March we start inseason training. Inseason training includes 3 practices per week.  This includes additional cage or dome time as facilities allow.
• When the weather breaks, our teams move outside to practice. We practice Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (if there are no games scheduled).
• The ESC is developing 8 turf 200' (12u and under) baseball fields that will be used as a tournament complex when complete. 4 of these fields will be expandable to full size 90' baseline fields. These fields will be our home fields to allow us to practice during the week and also host  ESC Tournament Baseball leagues during the week.
• Access to onstaff private instructors to help coaches work through trouble areas with players. This includes baseball skills as well as mental management coaches.
• Special clinics with guest instructors, the SeaWolves and local coaches.
• Organizational fundraisers. We ask coaches to have a parent that will act as their fundraiser lead that will coordinate with our organizational fundraising committee directors. This allows coaches to coach and not have to worry about contact fundraising.

 To succeed at the position coaches are expected to have the following skills:

• Baseball experience
• Consistent attendance
• Ability to run a practice and work with other coaches to manage a team environment.
• Travel with teams to tournaments, games and events in season
• Organize and plan a schedule with our leadership team
• Desire to create and develop coaching strategies to bring out the best in each athlete 
• Willingness to learn and work with program directors to build the best strategy possible for teams
• Ability to operate independently or with a team
• Ability to help with developmental baseball programs in the offseason. This is intended to develop the next generation of travel ball players and also help build baseball in our local youth leagues. Coaches that help with developmental baseball are paid for their time.

Position details:

• Candidates must have approved clearances and provide a W9
• Depending on the situtation and involvement this may be a paid, contract position
• This position can be used as an internship for local higher education students
• Coaches will participate in our training program

Fundraising Coordinators are outgoing, organized individuals that want to help make the community a better place by organizing and executing events to raise funds for our scholarship pathway, improving our facilities and team expenses. This position will be expected to work directly with the Program Director and leadership team to lead individual programs that align with our culture and vision to raise funds and bring awareness to our programs and youth athlete opportunities. These events/programs can include raffles, bingo nights, golf scramble, cornhole tournaments, obtaining banner sponsors, etc 

This position is expected to have the following skills:

• Outgoing personality and being comfortable talking on the phone and face to face
• Ability to assemble a team in different roles for a fundraising event
• Creative mind to develop programs and take personal pride in the product created
• Ability to work independently with self motivation
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to create marketing literature
• Ability to compose and answer emails
• Desire to improve our community and help provide pathways for young athletes that may not otherwise have had the opportunity.
• Positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and work with all of the directors to promote the teams

Position details:

• Candidates must have approved clearances and provide a W9
• Depending on the role and event this may be a paid contract position.
• Parents can use these roles as ways to offset the cost for their wrestlers registrations
• This position can be used as an internship for local higher education students
• These roles can also be used for volunteer service hours
• All events will be approved by our Directors
